I am Samson Okulaja, P.Eng, CWNE #309, and CEH. I have spent more than 20 years in RF and Wi-Fi engineering, designing and testing Wi-Fi and CPE hardware for a living, and running a dedicated home lab for the rest.
Most of my day-to-day work involves correlating what simulation models predict with how hardware actually behaves on the bench. Using industry-standard wireless and OTA testbeds, I collaborate with silicon vendors and OEM partners to take standards-compliant products from concept to launch. Beyond hardware validation, I contribute to industry guidelines and whitepapers on Wi-Fi sensing, and speak on where the standard is heading next, including Wi-Fi 8 and Ultra High Reliability (UHR).
This site is about sharing what I see in the field and in the lab with the broader Wi-Fi community. The best way I know to keep the 802.11 clauses sharp is to walk through them one at a time with a packet capture open on the screen. That is the core of this series: what the standard says, what the frames show, and where they differ.
Video walkthroughs and deep dives are published on my YouTube channel, and you can connect with me on LinkedIn. Questions, technical debate, and topic requests are always welcome.
The views expressed here are strictly my own. All packet captures are gathered on my own equipment and fully anonymised.
